I basically was a sobbing mess all day today and I did something I NEVER DO... after realizing that my eyes had swelled up and become red and evil looking from crying, I came home this afternoon and washed my face. Yes, I washed it and went OUT IN PUBLIC SANS MAKE-UP!!! Although, I did manage to hide my yuckiness with a nice hat and my HUGE Chanel shades. Hey, this Texas girl was raised to always look her best, and even though my best wasn't going to happen this evening, I still made the effort. Chanel shades and the right lipgloss work wonders! Mr. Top Gun feels horrible right now, and told me he hates knowing that he is the one taking me away from my family and moving me across the world for the next few years. I don't like to hear him say this, and I told him I knew what I was getting into when I met him and married him but right now I am not a huge fan of the Air Force. And you know what? that's okay! I wasn't a fan of it when my dad moved us to Germany and all around the states when I was growing up, but I can look back on those times now and I appreciate being able to have traveled all over the world with my family. Now, I just have to do it all over again- but as a grown up.
P.S. Moving sucks.

I can't imagine doing this. I am the biggest wimp when it comes to good-byes...I bawl my eyes out every.single.time I leave my parents!
ReplyDeleteHang in there! I'm sending you a virtual *hug*
ReplyDeleteYou will have great adventures and it is a good time in your life - you know these things already because you are a smart Texas girl. Thanks to technology you will be so much more in touch with family and friends than your parents were a generation ago living in Germany. Use us bloggers as needed. I will send make-up if necessary.
ReplyDeleteyou will have a blast. and having Skype helps a ton to keep up with everyone!! saying bye to family is always the hardest but just look t it as one more adventure you would have never gotten to take if it wasn't for the wonderful USAF
ReplyDeleteAw, I'm sorry you had such a rough day. It's going to be ok. Skype is amazing and you'll get to see your family even though they'll be here and you'll be there. You'll get through the next couple of years and be back before you know it. Plus you can always visit!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you are so sad, but like you said you appreciate being able to travel all over the world with your family.

I remember that dreaded day of moving overseas. My mom couldn't even take me to the airport. My sister and her boyfriend took me. And that was the best for me too! It was just too hard!! I am crying just thinking about it. After 8 years, we are finally within a days drive to home and I still bawl like a baby when I have to tell my parents bye!! Good luck with the flight and getting settled in! I wish I could tell you that it will get better but it is hard to leave!!
