Date night with Mr. Top Gun

Yeah, that's right. Mr. Top Gun and I went to see Bruno tonight for our date night. Feel free to judge me if you please, but you know what? This movie was freakin' HILARIOUS! Highly inappropriate for young children, heck even for my parents, and probably for most people. Let me just say this: If you are offended at all by nudity, homosexuality, crude jokes, sex toys, and full on images of a mans nether regions, then this is NOT a movie for you to see. I loved Borat, loved the Ali G show and am a fan of Sascha Baron Cohen in general. Besides, the fact that his character Bruno is a gay Austrian fashion model made the movie even funnier for me! It was subtitled in most parts, and I was highly impressed with his German speaking skills. Hey, I speak German fluently and could close my eyes and understand what he was saying throughout the movie. Mr. Top Gun laughed so hard he was crying, and I did the same! Too bad my Dad couldn't join us, but he was dog sitting my brother's dog Brutus this evening.

So, if you liked Borat and Ali G, and aren't afraid to see some rather crude humor, then you totally need to see this movie! It certainly isn't for everyone though. Tomorrow Mr. Top Gun and I are having dinner at a Brazilian Steak House with my parents!! YUm!!!

Attack of the Snuggies!

You know those annoying and douchie commercials you see on t.v. for the infamous "Snuggie?" Well, the Top Gun's have officially joined the ranks of those who dared to wear the snuggie. Back in January, my Mom informed us that she had ordered everyone in the family their very own snuggie, but that because they were so popular we wouldn't get them for a few months. And then my Mom showed up one day with our surprises. Mr. Top Gun got a blue one and I got the red one. We decided to visit my Nana and Grandpa and show them off at their house (which is where we are in the pictures,) and the minute we put them on my cat goes zonkers! Apparently, Zeus Baron DOES NOT LIKE SNUGGIES. I have never seen him run so fast in all the time we've had him. I think when we walked towards him, he saw us as floating ghost like creatures. Seriously, those things are HUGE and mine swallowed me up! Mr. Top Gun likes his snuggie and actually uses it, and my Dad loves his- he wears it around the house.
A note of caution from Mrs. Top Gun's Dad: "Don't wear your snuggie when you are trying to walk up the stairs with ice cream in your hand."
"Why not Dad?"
Mrs. Top Gun's Dad: "Because you can't hold the ice cream and hold the bottom of the snuggie at the same time. You HAVE TO HOLD THE BOTTOM OF THE SNUGGIE OR YOU WILL FALL. I almost fell down the stairs and died- with ice cream in my hand."

We are officially idiots. No, I don't wear mine. My cat sleeps on it.

"Want to join my cult?"

See, I told you Mr. Top Gun LOVES HIS!

Thank you Mom, for these awesome robes that you wear backward.

What Mr. Top Gun really does...

I have days when I have questioned as to whether or not Mr. Top Gun is really 'working' when he leaves for the base, due to the fact that leaving the house in full flight suit and with flight bag in hand- yet returning a mere 20 minutes later... Hmm... what are they really doing on the flight line? I finally found the answer, and this picture says it all! *THANKS to BLACK HAT IN THE CORNER* She e-mailed this to me earlier today, so she totally rocks!

Wacky Wednesday?

Do you need some panties or men's underwear?

Well, look no further than my future home... Japan! Where they have vending machines for everything. I would like to note that I shall NOT be stopping by this panty vending machine! Gross, weird, awkward???

Would you like a nice refreshing beverage? Perhaps a beer, coke, or a coffee? Personally, I think Tommy Lee Jones looks pissed. Does he really want to endorse these products? I would be scared of approaching this machine too. I wonder though... Does Tommy Lee Jones come out of the machine? Does he sign the Coke product for you? Or, does he yell at you?Silly Japanese. Good for a laugh!

Is your Dad awesome? Because, clearly Mine is...

Mrs. Top Gun has an awesome Dad. Here, he is on a silly green bike in Maryland while on vacation to visit his parents. I really don't have anything else to add to this... Oh, and that's a Diet Coke in his hand. I asked him if it was a beer, because it looked like one. And yes, he is sitting on the wheel. I wonder why he didn't choose to hop on up onto the seat?

He's coming home!

Yes, Mr. Top Gun is coming HOME!!! Not sure when, but I got the call last night at the lovely hour of 5 A.M. Now, here's the thing about calling Mrs. Top Gun at ungodly hours:
1. I either sound drunk.
2. Sound like I am on drugs.
3. Talk really, really loudly.
4. Can't find my darn phone, thus knocking the glass of water over on my nightstand.
5. Find the phone, answer it and end up clicking the "Ignore" button. Nice!

I was so hesitant to answer, because I figured it would be more bad news but it wasn't! I should have Mr. Top Gun in my arms in the next few days, so that means a few things need to get done around Casa Top Gun... Change the sheets on the bed, straighten up the house, clean the bathroom, get my nails done- yes. My nails. It is vitally important that I look my best when I jump into his arms! When he called last night, I asked him why he called so late.

Mr. Top Gun: "I'm all done. I rocked this flight, flew the heck out of the plane and got NO downgrades!"

Mrs. Top Gun: "Why are you calling so late? I was worried about you."

Mr. Top Gun: "Well, I was drinking with my crew."

Mrs. Top Gun: *blinks eyes, wiping sleep from them*
"At THIS HOUR? Who drinks at 4 or 5 in the morning?"

Mr. Top Gun: "Love, I fly planes. And when you fly in the middle of the night, your 4 or 5 A.M. is like my happy hour. Besides, it's tradition- you know that. I buy alcohol for my instructor (s) and the rest of the crew."

Mrs. Top Gun: " Yes, I know that. So, ya'll drank it all?"

Mr. Top Gun: "HELL YEAH, we did!"

I am just so happy to know he is coming home to me! We have a lot to do when he gets back (PCS, anyone?) but, we can finally close this chapter of our lives. Phew. What a relief! I recently spoke with Mr. Top Gun, and he told me was resting, so he could go out with the guys and "hoot it up" together before they all leave for different sides of the world. Oh boy... it looks like my evening may be filled with silly text messages and perhaps a VERY happy phone call from Mr. Top Gun! Hey, they ALL deserve a night out, and I am so proud of Mr. Top Gun and his fellow Top Gun buddies. They did it, and it's over! *GOOD JOB, GUYS!!!!*
