Flight Medicine is the BEE'S KNEES!

Flight Medicine totally ROCKS my socks. They are awesome and Flight Doc. is awesome! So, as you may have read from my last post, yesterday s-u-c-k-e-d, and it did so big time. I ended up in bed attempting to sleep off my migraine from hell, but alas, was not able to do so. Mrs. Top Gun spent some quality time with the porcelain God, AKA the toilet. Nice. After throwing up the small amount of food I was able to consume, I was ready to throw in the towel and drive to the ER. Luckily for me, I had a routine appt. this morning at Flight Medicine for migraine medication refills. Ironic much? I think so! I manage to get dressed and look presentable- because God forbid I would run into someone I knew on base this morning looking like I had just crawled out of the sewer. Mrs. Top Gun doesn't leave her house without make-up and her high heels, and yes, I can be knocking on deaths door but darn if I'm not gonna ring that bell looking fine!

I get to Flight Medicine, and the receptionist says: "Honey, you don't look so good. Let's take you back to Doc's office now, and let you lie down." AWESOME. I told the Airman at the desk not to talk to me or look at me as I was walking to the back. He laughed, and said: "Well, you are here ALL THE TIME, so you can say that to me." Fast forward to Flight Doc entering the room. Mrs. Top Gun is still in her Dolce shades, lying down on the exam table, looking like a burnt out rock star and probably making the Doc think I partied too hard the night before. He looks at me and says: "You have a migraine. Do you want a shot for it?" YES, YES, YES!!! He fills my meds, orders the shot and wishes me and Mr. Top Gun luck on our PCS. The Nurse comes into the room about 10 minutes later, wielding a large needle an a lovely vial of meds. Now, Mrs. Top Gun is used to migraines but I haven't required a shot in about two years. Yes, the migraine was that horrific.

I prepare my rear end (haha, yep I got a shot in the butt!) and the Nurse ends up bending the needle. She tells me that I have a firm butt, and that she needs to go and get a sharper, tinier needle. Mrs. Top Gun is feeling happy now. Not from the meds yet, but from the compliment of having a firm butt!! *Yeah* Those silly butt exercises DO work. I get the shot, mosey on over to the pharmacy, get my meds and drive home. As soon as I get in the garage, I almost keel over from the effects of the shot. But hey, my migraine was GONE, and I was feeling nice! I proceed directly to my heavenly cloud bed and pass out until Mr. Top Gun calls to say he is leaving to go fly. What a nice 4 hour nap! So, here's to you Flight Medicine! Thank you for saving Mrs. Top Gun from the brink of death. I shall miss you Flight Doctor Awesome :)
